# Modes of Practice

When most people imagine meditation they usually picture someone sitting down, in a quiet room, probably with their eyes closed. Now, that is a type of meditation practice, and maybe even the most popular type, but in order to really begin relating to the full potential of what practice could be, we’ve found it’s helpful to broaden this concept to include **3 different forms of practice**. One is what we could call “**Formal Practice**”, the other is “**Life Practice**”, and the final one is “**Spontaneous Practice**.”
